bruised elderly handsThe Sun News reported an incident involving a nursing home aide worker who was captured on camera grabbing an elderly woman by the neck, shoving her into a wheelchair and then further injuring her when he viciously pounded her head on a counter.

The worker then attempted to cover up the large cut she had sustained by bandaging her head. When her family came to visit and asked what had happened, the worker tried to convince them that she had fallen.

Alleged Attacker Passed Criminal Background Check

The incident happened at the Advantage Living Center nursing home in Warren, Michigan. Administrators at the facility reportedly fired the attacker after learning of the alleged assault and have been cooperating with the police investigation.

Advance Living Centers said a thorough background check was completed on the LPN prior to hiring him, and that it was clean. The care worker had only been employed by the facility for three weeks when the incident occurred.

Police have charged the 64-year-old alleged attacker, who they were able to identify in the video, with one count of vulnerable adult abuse in the third degree. The defendant was given a $25,000 bond and, as of the date of this news article, remains in jail pending his court date.
