Celebrating Native American Heritage Month in Milwaukee

Posted on behalf of Jeff Pitman on November 8, 2024 in Firm News

As PKSD celebrates Native American Heritage Month, our law firm honors the rich history and enduring presence of Milwaukee’s indigenous communities, including the Menominee, Ho-Chunk, and Potawatomi peoples. Our city’s very name, derived from the Algonquin word “Millioki” meaning “gathering place by the waters,” reflects the deep indigenous roots that continue to enrich our community.

Today, Native American communities represent a vital part of Milwaukee’s cultural fabric, contributing to our city’s diversity through institutions like the Indian Community School in Franklin and the Gerald L. Ignace Indian Health Center. Their presence reminds us of the importance of ensuring equal access to justice and legal representation for all members of our community.

As personal injury attorneys serving greater Milwaukee, we are committed to providing culturally sensitive legal services that honor and respect every client’s background. During Native American Heritage Month and throughout the year, we stand ready to advocate for all community members who need strong legal representation after an injury.
