Cascade Capital Group, a private-equity firm, recently purchased 29 Iowa nursing homes from ABCM Corp. The purchase prices is an incredible deal at “just” $85 million. However, that is roughly only $36,000 per facility. While the purchase is a massive deal for the new owner, it raises some concerns for residents and their families.

The facilities’ previous owner, ABCM Corp., was a major Iowa employer with over 3,000 workers. The new owner, Cascade Capital Group, currently operates more than 300 healthcare facilities across 19 states through various partnerships.
